Playing In the Leaves: Fall Fashion, Hair & Beauty
There are so many reasons this is my favorite time of year. Fall is the season that Gabe and I fell in love, and recently got married. I love cuddling up in cozy sweaters and under warm blankets as the weather gets cooler. I love apple cider, doughnuts and the fact that the holidays are just around the corner. I especially love the leaves changing and trying new Fall fashion and beauty trends!
Now that the temperature is starting to drop not only do I have a chance to wear some new Fall clothes but it also means I've switched up my makeup and hair routine. Keep reading to find out all about it!
I've been wanting a pair of over the knee boots for a few years now, and finally gave in and purchased these affordable Olivia Knee High Boots from Nordstrom, that look like the Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots, but are $500 less! They are super comfy, good quality, and cute.
The BP Cutout Choker Sweater Dress I'm wearing will be perfect for the holiday season, because it's dressy but still soft and comfortable. I am already planning to wear it with some tights on Thanksgiving.

With the colder weather and season change comes more of a need to switch up my beauty routine. I am planning a post on my Fall/Winter skincare routine more in-depth in the coming weeks, but there are some beauty products that I picked up recently that I am really enjoying using. As I am getting a bit older I am noticing dark circles under my eyes and bags when I don't get a good night's sleep. I recently started using Clinique's Pep-Start Eye Cream to get ahead of aging around my eyes and I feel like it instantly brightens the dark circles under my eyes and helps my Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer go on super smooth.
I've also taken to wearing foundation for special occasions and when I shoot for the blog, so that my skin is more even and bright. I am loving Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation because it gives medium coverage, but is also buildable and it doesn't look like I have too much makeup on when I wear it.During my last visit to the store, I let the sales lady at Sephora talk me into buying the cult favorite Original Beauty Blender, which helps both my foundation and concealer blend perfectly.
I also have to give a shout out to two Detroit local beauty companies! First is The Lip Bar because I have been rocking their lipstick in Merlot nonstop for the past few weeks. The second is The Ten Nail Bar which is not only a full service, luxury, nail salon that but they now offer eyebrow and facial waxing services as well as many other awesome products at affordable prices, for those of us in the Metro-Detroit area!

Finally as the weather gets colder and drier, keeping my hair in protective styles is important so it doesn't start breaking. In my search for my bridal hairstyle, I came across Kinky Curly Yaki. They are a black, female owned company, who make a range of natural textured hair extensions, clip-ins, and wigs. I ordered two full bundles of the Kinky Blowout extensions in 16" inches and I absolutely love them! The hair is super soft, light weight and blends perfectly with natural 4c hair when it is straightened or blown out. I seriously cannot recommend the hair enough and I am planning to try some of their other products in the kinky, curly and coily textures.
