Week in Review: Feb 24th
I'm going to start a "my week in review" feature covering everything from my look of the week, articles or books I'm reading, music I'm listening to, shows I'm watching and beauty and style products I'm using/are on my wish list! I'll also talk about what's new in Detroit or what I'm up to! I hope you enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!
A weekly playlist of my favorite songs.
Look of the Week
Style & Beauty Finds
Topshop Nelly Faux Leater Jacket- I purchased this jacket last weekend and I'm loving it. It's going to be perfect for Spring/Fall and the faux leather is incredibly soft and keeps you just at the perfect temperature.
Gingham Bistretch Sheath Dress- How adorable is this dress?! It would be make a perfect day to evening outfit.
On The Road Agency Twist-Front Top- I bought this shirt from Anthropologie and I love it. The material is so soft (I'm sure you can tell I have thing for soft fabric!) and comfortable. The twist-front is also good at hiding any food baby situation.
Sam Edelman Yaro Heels- I love how bright these heels are! I usually stick to boring black or brown when it comes to shoes, but these have me inspired to inject some color into my wardrobe.
Glossier Phase 2 Set- Glossier was offering 20% off and Free Shipping this past week so I took advantage and ordered their Phase 2 set, which includes the Boy Brow, Generation G Matte Lipstick, and the Stretch Concealer. I can't wait to try it out and will definitely share my review. (Use my code ANYTIME to get 20% off http://bff.glossier.com/e6b0a)
Capri Blue Scalloped Mercury Glass Candle- My best friend Laila bought me this candle for my birthday, and Gabe and I loved it so much that it was completely gone within a couple of weeks! The scent is so delicious and leaves our apartment smelling great well after we blow it out.
Warby Parker Valda- I just updated my eye glasses/contact prescription and I am on the hunt for new glasses. I've had two pairs from Warby Parker for the past two years and I am really pleased with how well made they are. I love cat-eye frames and am definitely lusting after this Valda pair.
Anthropologie Marble Monogram Trinket Dish- I love how small and delicate these dishes are. I put them on our wedding registry and think they will be perfect for our wedding rings!
So my 2017 50 Book Challenge has been challenging (pun intended) to keep up. I think my issue is that I'm typically a fiction reader and the first few books I chose were essays which are definitely interesting, but it's a bit harder to get "lost" in the story. I'm still working through Bad Feminist.

Catastrophe - This show is a recommendation from my "Blogger I'm Loving" this week, Dr. Laura Scott. Catastrophe is set in London and is about an American/Irish couple who get pregnant after a wild business trip fling. It shows how they deal with the pregnancy and develop a relationship out of the "catastrophe" that is the accidental pregnancy. The show is hilarious and though the humor can be a bit extreme at times shows what it's like to be in a long term relationship and how things work out in unexpected situations. I convinced Gabe to watch it with me and we both can't stop laughing throughout the 30 minute episode. Both seasons are available on Amazon Video.
Blogger I'm ❤️️ Loving
Dr. Laura Scott from A Little Bit of Lacquer is one of my biggest inspirations! She is a real superhero; not only is she a Harvard educated doctor who is married to one of her Harvard classmates and in her second year of her dermatology residency, but she also runs her blog full time, and just had her THIRD baby. She's a real BOSS and proves that with hard work, motivation you can have it all! I also love how she stresses that it's ALL possobile with a great support system. You can also find her here.
As I mentioned in my Last Post, the weather this past weekend was beautiful, so Gabe and I headed downtown to shoot for the blog. However the original spots that I had planned for us to go to were completely packed. Everyone was out soaking up the sunshine. We were able to explore West Village (Flower Mural pictured above) and stopped by Paramita Sound where I picked up A Seat at the Table on vinyl.
Downtown Detroit now is home to Shake Shack Detroit which I can't wait to try. I'm definitely a burger girl and can't wait to see if it lives up to the hype.
My hair was super short and this was my first post with my then "new" boyfriend Gabe! It's so crazy how much has changed since then!
