TV/Movies

Underground - WGN America's series, Underground, just finished its second season and is about the Underground Railroad. The series features historic characters like Harriet Tubman, William Still and Fredrick Douglas, as well as fictional characters. The show is compelling and thrilling and I think gives an honest portrayal of how the system of slavery diminishes all who are living within a society that practices it. It also reiterates how much of a bad-ass Harriet Tubman was. The woman was a real life superhero! Each season consists of ten episodes, which you can watch a few episodes of the current season online on WGN, and both seasons 1 & 2 on Amazon Video

Amazon is offering a free trail 30-day trial of Amazon Video! You can watch thousands of movies and tv shows at any time including, Underground! Click the banner above!

Maryland, Virginia & D.C.

Last weekend Gabe and I were in the DMV area (D.C., Maryland and Virginia), for his cousin's wedding! It was so much fun spending time with and getting to know future in-laws. My future mother-in-law (Roma), lives in Washington D.C., so we flew in there Friday night, and then drove to Hampton, Virginia for the wedding on Saturday. We were able to spend a few hours in D.C./Maryland before our flight back to Michigan on Sunday. We visited the National Harbor and MGM National Harbor. I love D.C. and I am planning a visit again this summer with my future sister-in-laws for Roma's birthday!
